The advice she gives her patients is for them to let her know what their health goals are so that, together, they can be partners in health moving forward.
Dr. Akhter is looking forward to the full scope of training and procedures, including C-section, which she will receive at the Lincoln Family Medicine Residency Program. Dr. Akhter has a research interest in esophageal adenocarcinoma and is excited about getting EGD training in Lincoln. After residency, she would like to provide care in an underserved area of Omaha, particularly of interest is working with the refugee population.
In her spare time, Dr. Akhter enjoys playing with her 3-year-old tabby cat, Ms. Juno Meows who seems to keep her quite busy. Some of her favorite things to do include acrylic painting, and crocheting.
